A Splash of GIN in MARKET by Jean-Georges

Karen Gin, one of the city’s leading culinary talents joins MARKET by Jean-Georges as Chef de Cuisine. Already at work in the kitchen, Chef Gin is working with the team to showcase the very best of seasonal, regional cuisine for Summer. Gin fans know her from Figmint, 900 West and Diva at the Met…and for the uninitiated, prepare for Gin to be your new Summer tonic.

MARKET Mixologist Shakes Up France

Justin Tisdall, our resident master mixologist who has shaken…and stirred Vancouver, took his talents to France recently. There, “JT” competed in the Giffard International Mixologist Challenge, beating out global competitors to take the number 2 spot (he’s still #1 with us). In this annual challenge, competitors are given a “surprise basket” of items just one hour prior to the competition. Showing imagination and grace under pressure, JT impressed judges with his use of a raw egg in his cocktail, “The Caribbean Sunset.” JT is back in the MARKET Bar, shaking it up, beginning June 4th.

The Patio is “Open” – Need We Say More!

We are a city that loves the outdoors… and our patios. The MARKET by Jean-Georges patio offers the perfect ‘perch’ as the weather warms up. The little corner alcove with lounge seating is a favourite spot.

Open for lunch, dinner and cocktails – remember those long afternoons sipping Ginger Margaritas last Summer? This year we’re recommending “pitchers of GMs” at just $28+. The patio is covered and has heaters… for those days of liquid sunshine.
