The GOODS from Bistro Pastis
Vancouver, BC | Ah, l’amour, l’amour – the French practically invented romantic love and the love song – from the ancient songs of the troubadours to the chansons of Edith Piaf. Even the Republic’s First Lady, Carla Bruni, sings of love. What better way to celebrate the love of your life than pre-empting the Valentine’s frenzy with a leisurely brunch at a genuine French bistro. Details after the jump…
Bistro Pastis offers brunch in a very romantic setting from 11am to 2pm on Sunday February 13th. You will receive a complimentary basket of warm Madeleines to seduce your taste buds as you browse the menu for other culinary temptations (menu).
If your Amour is a traditionalist and insists on celebrating on the actual day… then seduction is always better over dinner and a glass of champagne. On Valentine’s Day, Monday, April 14th Bistro Pastis is offering a special four-course Prix Fixe dinner menu for $80 with an optional wine pairing for $45. Experience real French romance at Bistro Pastis – it’s more effective than a box of chocolates and less hassle than trying to get to Paris by next Monday. Reservations are a must and are yours by calling 604-731-5020 or on-line at www.bistropastis.com.

The menu features classic bistro fare (Coq au Vin, Bouillabaisse or Steak Frites for instance) served with a contemporary touch along with one of the finest by-the-glass wine lists in Vancouver. Add streams of natural light through the café windows to the warmth of a crackling fireplace in an intimate room presided over by a genuine French Maitre d’ and you have all the ingredients for a memorable meal. If you’re in a hurry or just meeting a friend for a drink, Bistro Pastis also offers prime people-watching seats along its traditional front-room bar.
