Paid a visit to Campagnolo last night. The new Italian casual at 1022 Main (two doors down from the Ivanhoe) is coming from Robert Belcham, Tom Doughty, and Tim Pittman of West 4th’s Fuel Restaurant. Much had been done since I last looked in on the space this past September. They say they’ll be ready open on the down low some time next week. Soft launch, as they say. UPDATE: It’s open! Check it out below.
The front half of the restaurant seats 65, 25 of which are along a wall banquette. The floors are cork, and the tables are Ikea cutting boards well oiled and trimmed. They scored Lumiere’s wine fridge when they went under the redesign knife last spring, and have four washrooms in four colours (for those counting at home).
Sweet Action.
The Campagnolo logo looks a lot like the El Nido Cabernet Bottle by Chris Ringland…
I am soooo looking forward to this! Though, last thing I need is another excuse to eat out. Dammit.

Quite the change from Adega. I wonder if the bar will look like the one at Wild Rice with the glowy plexiglass? Can’t wait to check it (and of course the food) out.
Looks very cool. Hopefully no one gets stabbed heading here! Crazy location!!!!
