Vancouver, BC | In support of Earth Hour 2010, Elixir Bistro will shut off the lights and offer guests a special candle lit dinner in support of this global climate change initiative. Elixir Bistro?s celebrated chefs have designed an inspired 3-course menu that features local and organic ingredients including Aldergrove beets, Permberton Valley potatoes, and sustainably harvested Halibut from the Queen Charlotte Islands. Elixir is proud to be a member of both Vancouver?s Ocean Wise Sustainability program and the Green Table Network.
When & Where: Saturday March 27th, 2010 @ Elixir Bistro, 322 Davie Street, Vancouver
Why: Earth Hour 2010 is a global call to action to every individual, business and community throughout the world. Hundreds of millions of people worldwide will turn off their lights for an hour to demand action on climate change. Though Earth Hour is officially at 8:30pm for one hour on March 27th, Elixir Bistro will engage in a full evening of candlelight dining for guests.

Pan roasted Halibut with red cipollini sauce soubise, wilted nettles and roasted sun chokes.
Halibut sustainable from the Queen Charlottes, red cipollini from Sorrento, sunchokes from Aldergrove and nettles from Olera farms in the Fraser valley

Whisky Wednesday
Elixir’s Whisky Wednesday led by Whisky Educator Bruce Mackenzie – a stylish scotch whisky tasting, showcasing Grant’s Family Reserve, Grant’s Ale Cask Reserve and Grant’s Sherry Cask Reserve will be held in Elixir’s plush Velvet Room. Specially prepared tasting plates, created by celebrated Chef Don Letendre, will help bring the whisky’s characteristics to light.

Why: Novices and aficionados will explore the world renowned brand with nuanced tasting plates crafted by celebrated Chef Don Letendre to highlight the unique characteristics.
