Tea & Two Slices: On Bloggers Aspiring To Be Politicians And Provincial Fear Mongering

by Sean Orr | Adrian Dix wins B.C. NDP leadership. So it’s Dix/Clarke, eh? I guess that apropos of BC politics; always a bit of a variety show.

The Province releases the hounds! Selection of Dix may be the NDP’s undoing:

“But [Dix] scares the heck out of tens of thousands of voters, who believe a Dix-led government means higher taxes, out of control government spending and anti-business policies that will gut investment and slow the economy and job creation”

You do that, Province. Scaring the heck out of tens of thousands of voters is your job. In spite of a death by a thousand cuts, your boys weren’t even any better at “the economy and job creation”. It’s with fear-based editorials like this that you and your corporate brothers have managed to equate the NDP with a bad economy (and it’s just not fucking true).

NDP’s Eby to run against Clark for seat in the legislature. I hear that in order to be a resident of the riding, Eby is camping out in a Red Tent on Campbell’s front lawn.

Anti-Vision blogger Mike Klassen wants in on Vancouver council. Oh well. On the bright side, at least he stopped writing.

Is Your City Too Safe? No, that’s crazy; totally contradicting the narrative of the big, bad, drug-fueled ghetto known as the DTES. We’re supposed to be scared so that it motivates us to work harder (lest we “end up there”).

Sun News Network hits the airwaves with a hard right. That’s a total surprise.

Nardwuar vs. Michael Ignatieff. I would vote for Nardwuar in a second.
