(Vancouver, B.C.) – OPUS Vancouver, Yaletown’s internationally renowned, chic boutique hotel, is delighted to announce two gifted additions to their talented team; Sherry Diggle joins as Manager of OPUS Bar and Van Doren Chan assumes the position of Sommelier for the luxury establishment.

For Van Doren Chan, working with the dedicated team at OPUS Vancouver is a highlight of an already illustrious and high-profile career. Thanks to her family’s collection of eateries around the city, Chan’s immersion in the Vancouver restaurant industry started from an early age. Following a diverse professional career as pastry chef, with notable positions at Blue Water Café, Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver and C Restaurant, Chan turned her attention to the world of fine wines and is currently enrolled in the Court of Master Sommeliers certification program. A graduate of the International Sommelier Guild and Dubrulle Culinary Institute, Chan is superb addition to the OPUS management team and is a prominent figure at Elixir Bistro, where she oversees tableside service and personally compiles their extensive wine list.

Sherry Diggle brings an equally strong skill-set to OPUS Bar, whose chic and stylish allure is exceedingly popular with stylish locals and international celebrities. A graduate of the International Sommelier Guild’s Sommelier Diploma Program, Diggle thrives on providing first-class service. Diggle’s passion for the restaurant industry stemmed from working as a bartender at Earl’s Restaurant in her native Manitoba and has flourished thanks to roles at Vancouver’s West, Bin 941 Tapas Parlour and Voya Restaurant at the Loden Hotel. Diggle relishes hosting wine-tastings and educating her team on innovative vineyards and inspired cuisine.

Both Chan and Diggle are thriving in their new roles, where they share the enjoyment of introducing guests not only to trendy and luxurious libations, but also to those which are distinctive and affordable. Look out for events hosted by the engaging duo, including Whisky Wednesdays on September 16 and the OPUS Pool Party on August 27.
