“Growing Chefs! Chefs for Children’s Urban Agriculture is excited to announce its 2nd annual fundraising party. On October 25th, the Dirty Apron Cooking School will host From Farms to Forks: A Harvest Kitchen Party pairing prominent local chefs and growers. The evening will feature chef and pastry chef tasting stations and cooking demonstrations, passed canapés, cocktail making demonstrations (and tastings!), and B.C. beer and wine pairings. Proceeds from the event will go directly to support the Growing Chefs!”

“Farms to Forks is a great way to celebrate the best of B.C.’s local product and talent,” says Helen Stortini, Executive Director of Growing Chefs! “The evening will be filled with delicious food and drink and will also draw awareness to the importance of supporting local agriculture. The funds raised will allow local chefs to share their knowledge about growing, cooking and eating healthy food with more students and we are delighted to have such wonderful restaurants, chefs, and growers involved.”

“I’m so happy to be working with such an incredible group of chefs, growers, and producers,” says Merri Schwartz, Chair of the Board of Directors and Founder of Growing Chefs! “I’m also so touched by their generous support and sponsorship of the event.”

Participating chefs and bartenders include Scott Jaeger of the Pear Tree Restaurant, Marc-André Choquette and Tret Jordan of Voya, Neil Taylor of Cibo Trattoria, Jonathan Chovancek of Culinary Capers Catering, David Robertson of Chambar, Takashi Mizukami of the Dirty Apron Cooking School, Wendy Boys of Cocolico, Rhonda Viani of West, and Lauren Mote of the Refinery. The evening will also feature dishes from C Restaurant, Bishop’s, ReFuel Neighbourhood Restaurant and Bar, Mis Trucos, La
