The GOODS from Dockside
Vancouver, BC | The Dockside Restaurant and Brewing Company continues its new Cask Series with a summertime cask & BBQ patio party on Thursday, July 21st from 6-10PM. The night will feature a special cask ale along with paired food creations on Dockside’s completely renovated patio recently given top honours for location by Tourism Vancouver. Details after the jump…
The featured beer of the evening will be a cask-conditioned Railspur IPA spiced with star anise and coriander then dry hopped with cascade hop flower. The patio party will also be the official launch of the new summer seasonal beer, Haupenthal Hefeweizen.
The cask will be tapped at 6pm by Brewmaster Mark Simpson and it will be first come first served for only $4 a sleeve until it’s gone. “For all our cask beers, we strive to do something a bit original and unique, so each cask has its own personality,” said Simpson. “We sample the casks alongside the mother recipe of the same beer and it’s always fun and illuminating to try both and see the differences.”
Dockside Chef Jeff Batt will be also be featuring special BBQ and charcuterie creations to pair with the beers. The small plates will also be $4 and they’ll offer a great chance to mix and match taste pairings with input from Simpson, who is one of only seven Certified Cicerones (beer sommeliers) in Canada.

About Dockside
The Dockside Restaurant offers superbly prepared classic dishes in a setting like no other. Located on the waterfront where Granville Island faces the city, guests can enjoy panoramic views across False Creek to the world-famous cityscape of Yaletown and beyond to the mountains of the North Shore.
The open dining room is relaxed yet refined, wrapped in spectacular floor to ceiling windows, while the lounge offers warm intimate surroundings for evening cocktails. The award-winning patio catches sunlight from morning to late afternoon. Protected on three sides it’s an oasis of calm, disturbed only by the occasional sound of boats making their way along False Creek. Recent renovations have added fireplaces and casual seating areas to this Vancouver destination.
These three venues offer seating options that are perfect for groups from 4 to 200. With signature elements like a 50-foot aquarium and an open kitchen, each meal is an experience for all the senses. Located adjacent to the boutique Granville Island Hotel, the Dockside Restaurant is open seven days a week serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Reservations are recommended.
Reviews
“This is our very favorite place. We drive into town from Delta and make an evening of browsing through Granville Isl. Market. The restaurnat is perfect for a quiet evening.View is wonderful. I appreciate the spacious arrangement of the tables. We have our favorite table, the staff and service is fabulous. I had the herb crusted Halibut – it was delicious and my husband enjoyed the slate fish. It was a memorable evening. We look forward to another visist very soon. As well, we have enjoyed the great patio – has to be one of Vancouver’s best.” OpenTable.com
“We have going to Vancouver for many years and most recently (if twenty years can be considered recently) staying exclusively at the wonderful Graville Island Hotel. Because we have an aversion to hotel restaurants, this is the first time we have had dinner there. It was one of the finest dinners we have in a city that is known for its fine restaurants. Outstanding in every way!” OpenTable.com
“We enjoyed the welcoming feel of the restaurant – appropriate lighting, comfortable seating – it is like a comfortable dining room. We will return again as the restaurant has once again met our expectations. The salmon was nicely prepared and the lamb was well presented and excellent on the tongue. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable.” OpenTable.com
