Born in Vancouver, the Foundation holds shoots around the world and has raised over $1.25 million for 73 projects in 8 different countries.

Lauryn Oates works in the fields of education and gender equality in conflict zones. In particular, she has worked to defend women’s rights in Afghanistan since 1996. She is a vocal proponent of the universalism of human rights, and a critic of cultural relativism, speaking frequently to these issues in the Canadian and international media.

Gen HumePrincipal/Fairtrade Officer, Hume Atelier
Hume Atelier is a bespoke jewellery studio in Gastown and strong advocates for artisanal and small-scale miners, who often work under very dangerous conditions. Hume Atelier is committed to generating change for these miners through collaboration with organizations such as Fairtrade International, the US Agency for International Development and the United Nations.
