The GOODS from Wildebeest

Vancouver, BC | Wildebeest has launched its new brunch menu. Staying true to their nose-to-tail concept, the Gastown restaurant is serving a fresh, meaty take on this midday meal. With a menu focused on contemporary farmhouse fare, each item is thoughtfully crafted from sustainably and ethically sourced ingredients. The resulting farm-to-finish dish is always the ultimate in quality and creativity. Guests can look forward to tasting elevated riffs on dishes such as Croque Madame with smoked ham, gruyere, fried egg, and arugula salad; the Wildebeest brunch with Angus beef bavette, smoked bierwurst, bacon, three eggs, and toast; scrambled eggs with bone marrow, parsley salad, and toast; mini donuts with seasonal custard, gin and tonic, or chocolate and charteuse; and apple bread French toast with housemade ricotta, roasted apples, and vanilla chantilly. The restaurant will also have a weekly tourtiere special.

Along with their food options, Wildebeest is offering a special brunch cocktail menu with items such as the Campari Rosa – apple cider, orange juice and Campari; the Gastown 75 – sparkling wine, grapefruit juice, Aperol and honey; and the Corpse Reviver & Tonic – gin, Lillet, Cointreau, lemon, Absinthe and tonic.

Set in a refurbished 19th century building, Wildebeest’s industrial inspired design highlights the original character of the heritage space with reclaimed wood, exposed brick, and vintage style tile work. Diners will have the opportunity to enjoy the multi-level restaurant in a variety of settings including 22 seats in the front of house bar and lounge, 65 seats in the main dining room – featuring a T-shaped chef’s table and open concept kitchen.

Wildebeest is now open for brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations can be made online or by phoning the restaurant at 604-687-6880. For more information visit wildebeest.ca.

About Wildebeest

Wildebeest invites you to experience unabashedly adventurous, yet simple cooking at its finest set against the history of the Vancouver neighbourhood of Gastown. Explore whole-animal cookery paired with a diverse selection of Old and New World wines and a carefully crafted cocktail list. Set in a refurbished 19th century building, the multi-level space offers a front house cocktail bar & lounge, open-concept kitchen complete with large kitchen tables, an inviting dining room with banquette seating, and an intimately-set underground wine bar.

The gastronomically daring menu focuses on whole-animal cookery prepared with the utmost integrity. Each and every component has been thoughtfully nurtured by the restaurant’s executive chef, David Gunawan, from field to finish.  Working closely with surrounding farms and farmers to raise animals and grow custom produce, the team at Wildebeest has crafted a menu unlike anything yet explored in Vancouver.
