After an exhilarating day on the mountain, The Velvet Restaurant in Rossland, BC offers an equally soul-enriching dining experience. Pull up a seat at the lounge’s 360-degree bar, grab a stool in front of the bar, or take a seat in the dining room, complete with inspiring views of both the mountainside and the glass-walled kitchen. Wherever you get comfortable, The Velvet’s locally-inspired seasonal menu and locally-inspired drink menu will ensure you stay that way.
“The service I received from the staff and the quality of food served was out standing, amazing atmosphere, amazing setting right on the mountain, this place should be a must on anyone list of thing to do!” — Ken Blackwell.
“What makes a restaurant? First of all location, Service and Food. This place did all three very well. They were very nice to the dog, while we were on the patio and soon as the sun dropped, the blankets came out. The desert in the photo had gold flakes on it. A place I can highly recommend and we walked out fully satisfied.” — Richard H., Local Guide.
“I had the distinct pleasure of eating and drinking at the Josie’s Velvet restaurant and lounge a handful of times during my stay at Rossland this winter. From an après experience channeling the vibes of St Anton, to a dining room menu with features like stuffed quail, bison carpaccio, and a wild mushroom risotto, I would stake my name on calling this the best restaurant-lounge east of Kelowna. I find it hard to imagine anything coming close in the region, although I of course haven’t eaten everywhere. Plus for the level of experience, I thought it was great value too.
Topping off the experience were the small but thoughtful wine list and inventive cocktails. The crew on the floor were young, energetic, and playful, without losing a sense of professionalism. Recommending Velvet to anyone passing through these parts – a must try!” — DanC988
