We believe seasonal, organic food is a standard and more importantly be and be accessible to all. Ubuntu Canteen is a conscious, future-focused restaurant, bakery and coffee shop serving the heart of Vancouver. Our intention is to provide a space that families and friends of all ages could have a place to eat, congregate and build a great community.
In the morning our bakery prepares organic pastries and fresh sourdough daily. During the day our chefs prepare dishes with ingredients grown by our family of local farmers. Working with the ebb and flow of the season, our menu changes daily and sometimes throughout the day. When there is great food, there must be great coffee! We have a full-service espresso bar using only locally roasted ethically sourced beans. Want that coffee to go? It’s no problem, but be sure to bring your own reusable to-go cup as we do not provide any single-use disposable coffee cups.
In the evening we dim the lights, play records and serve libations. Bio-dynamic and natural wine, stocking only what we deem is best for the environment. If you are more of the beer type, we keep our taps rotating with what fruit of the skilled brewers of Vancouver have to offer. Our menu takes the high road by moonlight; we mix it up with nightly specials, oysters, mussels, charcuterie, house-made pasta, and desserts.
