About Statera Academy
Statera is the Latin word for balance. Balance makes for a great life, just like balance is a key component in a great glass of wine. Work hard, play hard, and keep it in balance is a good way to live.
Statera’s Tag line “Taste, Teach, Inspire” really comes from the heart. The first goals are to teach about these amazing products through listening and reading, as well as through tasting and experiencing. But most of all, the goal is to inspire. Inspire the interest to learn more, and the desire to share the knowledge and experiences. We are determined that with our experience and passion, we can pass on the knowledge required for the qualifications, and we will inspire the excitement to continue the journey and share it with others.
Statera Academy Ltd. is a privately owned BC company that is an Approved Program Provider with the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET). It is authorized to teach Wine levels 1-3, Sake 1 & 3, and Spirits 1-3, as well as the on-line platform for Wine and Spirits Classes.
WSET Spirits Level 3 is set to launch in Winter 2020 and Statera will be the first Authorized APP in Canada to offer this. Statera has also partnered with Local BC craft distilleries to offer WSET spirits on location at the distillery! Satellite locations include Odd Society Spirits in Vancovuer, Okanagan Spirits in Vernon, and Victoria Caledonia Distillery.
Statera began in 2016 and in three and a half short years has had over 950 students take courses. Statera runs classes for all levels open for registration at its classroom location. Classes are held during the day, focusing on hospitality employees who work evenings as the main student demographic.
Statera also specializes in teaching WSET course for companies who are looking to train their employees in a private class setting.

Statera works with Acsenda School of Management providing WSET Level 1 & 2 Wine as a required elective to the Bachelor of Hospitality Program as well and an elective to the Bachelor of Business Management and Marketing programs.
Statera offers WSET level 1 at Vancouver Community College as part of their continuing studies programs in hospitality.
