Shuobi Wu – Founder
At Lineage we believe in the art of simplicity and the importance of bringing people together. From spontaneous to elaborate meals, Lineage tableware is meant to bring any meal to life while encouraging us all to gather, reminisce, and create new memories set intentionally around good food and even better company.
The Lineage brand was born out of homesickness and a yearning for connection. Growing up in Teoswa with a family of over 30 members and memories surrounded by food, celebration, and gathering, Lineage founder, Shuobi Wu wanted to bring this nostalgia from his childhood to his new home in Vancouver, Canada.
Lineage is simply an extension that aims to honour Shuobi’s family heritage, and carry on their legacy for creating durable, timeless, high-quality ceramic tableware, made with heart and consciousness. They take pride in their family production, and they want our plates and bowls to bring people together, to dine, to chat, to reminisce. Just like how we were told to help set up the dinner table as a kid.
All Lineage ceramics are safe, durable, and non-toxic stonewares, made to be microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe under 400°F. Every piece is unique, and each enjoys occasional handwashing to give them shine and keep them healthy – like how we take care of our own body. From the raw materials to the manufacturing process to the packaging that you receive your tableware in – every step of the process from wheel to table is made with an ethical and sustainable conscience.
“Before bringing home these ceramics, I spent 10 years using the same hand me down dishes that my family gave me when I moved out. Talk about a glow up.” — Devi, January 2021, Plating on Blackberry, Aqua, Grey & Marshmallow.
“Food just hits different when you’re eating off of dinnerware that you actually enjoy. It helps me remember to slow down, take a breath and step back from whatever happened during the day. Then go right back into devouring my meal, obvs.” — Kendall, January 2021, Plating on Blackberry.
“Not being able to dine in at restaurants for most of the year has been a major bummer. Combine my Lineage plates with takeout from my favourite local spots? The best way to fill the void.” — Matt, December 2020, Plating on Blackberry.
