About 40 Knots Winery

At 24 acres, 40 Knots is one of the largest wineries on Vancouver Island. We are steadfast in our commitment to produce wines that are Delicious by Nature, guided by our promise to sustainability in every aspect of our operations. We were established in 2005, and since then have continued to grow noble varieties such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gris, and Gamay, as well as common hybrids such as Auxerrois, Sieg, and Schönberger. Our wines are distinctly shaped by the ocean breeze and sun-soaked climate, as well as our biodynamic farming methods.

Nestled with a view of the Comox glacier and a stone’s throw from the Salish Sea, guests can enjoy our wines while overlooking the vineyard from our balcony, take in 360-degree views from our glass-walled Vineyard Terrace, or enjoy a firsthand learning experience in our Cellar Tasting Room. Visitors can also enjoy a stroll through our vines, or relax in one of our outdoor patios. Families and pets are welcome!

We recognize that sustainability is a circular effort that requires us to be environmentally, socially, and economically responsible. As such, we strive to not only produce exceptional wines but also to support the agriculture industry through 40 Knots Sustainable Solutions, offer sustainable products and services for celebrations through 40 Knots Décor and Event Rentals, and create vegan and animal-cruelty-free skincare products through VinoSpa.

We are committed to being an example of sustainable practices and encourage others to join us in working towards a more sustainable future. At 40 Knots Winery, we pledge to continuously improve our sustainability efforts and produce wines that not only taste great but also contribute to a healthier planet. At the core of our efforts is our team rhythm and support. We believe that by fostering a positive work environment and supporting each other, we can live up to our mission statement with fun and integrity.
