BETA5 Launches New Green-Powered March Collection

The GOODS from Beta5

Vancouver, BC | From mossy greens, matcha, to mint, and Irish coffee, the first signs of spring are popping up at BETA5 (409 Industrial Ave). To celebrate the changing seasons, BETA5’s March collection is filled with vibrant, earthy tones and flavours, including new trademark chocolates, green-themed cream puffs, a matcha cruffin, and a vegetable-forward chocolate bar for its next chefs collaboration.

“I’ve always imagined the transition from winter to spring a sort of awakening in nature,” says pastry chef/chocolatier Adam Chandler, who co-owner of BETA5 with his wife Jess Rosinski. “When water returns to the rivers and when ferns start to grow again. It’s something Jess and I experience in our own backyard, and we really wanted to create a collection that truly interprets those themes through chocolate and pastry.”

BETA5’s March trademark chocolates features three flavours – birch syrup and black pepper, genmaicha, and peated whisky.

The new Polygon Bar ($11), named Verdant Force, is midnight green and made with 66 per cent dark chocolate, aerated mint chocolate, and cocoa nibs.

On the pastry side, BETA5 unveils three new feature cream puffs: a dark chocolate and fresh mint; genmaicha with black sesame and mandarin combination; and a touch of the Irish for St. Patrick’s Day with coffee, whisky, and maple. It will also launch a matcha cruffin , and savoury croissant.

Chandler is currently developing BETA5’s next chefs collaboration chocolate bar with Bryan Satterford of Beetbox, which will be available mid-March. The bar focuses on the idea of “eat your veggies” and more information is coming soon.

BETA5 is open Tuesdays to Fridays, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guests can visit BETA5 at 409 Industrial Ave to enjoy and pick-up the new treats, or order a selection online to be delivered North American-wide.
