Harvest Gives a Supplier Shout Out to ‘Tempea’

Scout works with a lot of local restaurants to get the word out about the cool and delicious things they’re doing, but they couldn’t do what they do without access to awesome ingredients. To get what they need, culinary creatives depend on personal networks of passionate artisans, farmers and producers who often work hard without ever seeing the glory they deserve. Since it’s always good to recognize those who have your back, we bring you the Supplier Shout Out!

Harvest Community Foods draws our attentions to the Vancouver-based duo that supplies them with some really special…

Which one of your suppliers do you want to give a shout out to? Tempea Foods.

What do they supply you with? Tempeh.

How are these ingredients featured on your menu? You may find Tempea’s tempeh in our weekly special noodle bowls or salads ($13.95-14.95) or it can also be purchased in-store at Harvest Community Foods (soon to rebrand as Plant & Provisions).

What makes this supplier so special? Tempea is one of the few tempeh makers in North America. Founders Ariela Badenas and Andrew Chen started Tempea out of their shared deep connection to cuisine and supporting other local producers.
