Local Steakhouse Shouts Out a North Shore Distillery’s Excellent Amaretto

Scout works with a lot of local restaurants to get the word out about the cool and delicious things they’re doing, but they couldn’t do what they do without access to awesome ingredients. To get what they need, culinary creatives depend on personal networks of passionate artisans, farmers and producers who often work hard without ever seeing the glory they deserve. Since it’s always good to recognize those who have your back, we bring you the Supplier Shout Out!

This week we visit Gotham Steakhouse to find them using local artisan distillery Sons of Vancouver‘s delicious Amaretto in one of their more seasonal cocktails, The Nutcracker. This is how you can make it at home…

The Nutcracker

1.25oz Queensborough gin
.75oz Wayward depth charge cacao & coffee bean liqueur
2 dashes Scrappys chocolate bitters
1oz demerrura sugar

Sons of Vancouver Amaretto whip cream
Shaved nutmeg
In a large cocktail glass

Combine all ingredients in shaker, add ice, and hard shake. Strain into Nick n Nora cocktail glass. Layer amaretto whip cream on top. Garnish with shaved nutmeg dusting.
