Vancouver, BC | Fable Diner will be a home away from home for Vancouver foodies this holiday season. The beloved modern-day diner at Main and Broadway will be getting in the festive spirit all month long with eggnog milkshake specials, delicious take-home gifts, and two special holiday-inspired dining events on Monday, December 23 and Tuesday, December 31.

HOLIDAY DINING
Eggnog Milkshake Specials – December 1 to 31
There’s no sweeter seasonal treat during the holidays than eggnog. This year, Fable Diner will be offering a pair of limited-edition eggnog milkshakes in both boozy and virgin varieties. Available throughout the month of December, Fable Diner’s Yuletide-themed Eggnog Shake is made with eggnog and vanilla ice cream from Birchwood Dairy, topped with nutmeg-infused whipped cream. Guests who want to feel extra merry will have the option to spike their milkshake with dark rum and local Sunshine liqueur.

Orphan’s Holiday Dinner – Monday, December 23
On Monday, December 23, Fable Diner chef Josef Driemel and his culinary team will host a one-night-only Orphan’s Holiday Dinner for individuals and groups who find themselves far away from home over the festive season. A contemporary take on a traditional Christmas dinner, the impressive spread will be offered at $30 per person (plus tax and gratuity) and will feature roast beef with horseradish cream, roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes with house-made gravy, and a personal pavlova for dessert, with the option to add bread rolls and/or a fresh local salad to start for an additional cost. Libations on the restaurant’s new cocktail menu will be on offer for half price during the Orphan’s Holiday Dinner service. The seatings will be available from 4 to 8:30 p.m.

New Year’s Eve – Tuesday, December 31
Fable Diner invites friends and neighbours to toast the end of 2019 together during a special prix-fixe New Year’s Eve service on Tuesday, December 31. Chef Josef Driemel will be preparing a three-course menu featuring a glass of Prosecco to start followed by a variety of savoury selections such as seared duck breast with winter root vegetables, ling cod with celeriac and mustard puree, and a vegetarian option. The special New Year’s Eve set menu is priced at $35 per person (plus tax and gratuity) and seatings will be available from 4 to 8 p.m.

HOLIDAY HOURS
Fable Diner will be operating with reduced hours during the holiday season. The restaurant will be open for brunch until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24 (Christmas Eve) and will be closed Wednesday, December 26 (Christmas Day) and Thursday, December 26 (Boxing Day), reopening with regular hours on Friday, December 27. On New Year’s Day, Fable Diner will only be open for brunch service from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
