The GOODS from La Tana
Vancouver, BC | On the heels of having celebrated their first anniversary on Commercial Drive, Caffè La Tana ushers in the season of gift giving and holiday hosting by offering thoughtfully curated gift boxes and baskets of Italian specialty goods; a festive pop-up at Nordstrom Pacific Centre; and the perfect place to hold your holiday party.
With the holidays comes the opportunity to bring family and friends together; it is a time when, as Italian chef Lidia Bastianich says, “we are open to receiving good and taking it in with gusto and pleasure”. Whether that means sharing a meal laboured over with love or adhering to the old adage, “never show up empty handed’, just in time for the holidays, Caffè La Tana extends a message of affection, appreciation and celebration by stocking the grocery, or alimentari, with fine Italian foods.
From a traditional, festively wrapped panettone to a curated gift box or basket ~ confezione regalo ~ filled with Italian provisions and delicacies such as cured meats, imported cheeses, intriguing condiments & confections; excellent olive oil and vinegars della casa (used in the kitchens of sister restaurants Savio Volpe and Pepino’s Spaghetti House); even a box of house made fresh pasta, wrapped with a ribbon. Ranging from simple to lavish, the alimentari is fully stocked with something for everyone proving that proper gift giving can be as personal as customizing a confezione regalo (in a range of price points) or as practical as loading a La Tana gift certificate (or a three-restaurant package of gift cards ~ Caffè La Tana, Pepino’s Spaghetti House, Osteria Savio Volpe). To purchase a gift certificate, pre-order portions of fresh pasta, or customize a gift box or basket for pick up now through December, visit the caffè in person, call 604-428-5462 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
To further celebrate the season, Italian food and culture lovers seeking gift inspiration are invited to mark their calendars as Caffè La Tana will be popping up at Nordstrom Pacific Centre on December 13, 14 and 15. The celebratory event will bring the caffè’s luxuriously wrapped holiday gift boxes & baskets, as well as a curated selection of Italian specialty goods, from Little Italy right to the heart of the city and North America’s leading luxury department store, tempting holiday shoppers to treat themselves – and their fellow food-lovers – to exquisite edible delights. Enjoy a taste of old world Italy at Caffè La Tana’s Nordstrom pop-up on floor 2 between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m.
“Our holiday boxes & baskets are an easy way to impress – they’re perfect host gifts or presents for anyone with a taste for fine Italian food,” says Paul Grunberg, partner of Savio Volpe, Pepino’s Spaghetti House and Caffè La Tana. “And with Caffè La Tana’s pop-up at Nordstrom, the community can conveniently pop by while completing their holiday shopping. These are impactful gifts that will make a lasting impression.”
Back at home on Commercial Drive, Caffè La Tana’s intimate, old-world inspired space, with its deep green marble, custom woodwork, classic tiled flooring, and
hand-drawn wallpaper, has been praised by leading design publications including Wallpaper*, ELLE Décor, Metropolis and Frame – if it is an elegant and memorable holiday soirée venue you seek, the dreamy atmosphere is ideal. From office parties to family reunions, the private dining at Caffè La Tana remains faithful to the concept of Italian conviviality with a strong focus on cicchetti – small bites paired with aperitivi and wine.
