The sprawling headquarters of Bosa Foods has been undergoing a major transformation for over the past year and we’ve been doing our best to stay on top of it.
We recently teased the quiet renovations that have been going on during off-hours at the East Vancouver store. Regular, keen-eyed customers will have likely noticed bigger changes such as the massive deli upgrades, the expanded ready-to-eat offerings, the new wall of frozen foods (lasagna, anyone?), and the total reorganisation of the retail floor, but to the casual observer it’s been business-as-usual. There’s been no stoppage in shopping, no major halt to deliciousness — it’s been a fun thing to watch:
It’s one thing to open a brand new food store, but it’s another thing entirely to open a new one without ever actually closing the old one. That’s what Bosa Foods has been doing for several months now at its 7,900 sqft address on Kootenay Street. They’ve been hard at work slowly modernizing the interior on Sundays and after the last shoppers leave on weeknights.
We’re now happy to report that the ‘Reno Reveal’ is on the immediate horizon. On Saturday, October 19th, the grand opening celebrations will see in-store specials, samples everywhere, freshly roasted chestnuts imported from Italy, Italian sodas by donation and cooking demos in the new test kitchen by Lombardo’s chef, Giulia Lombardo.
Here’s a sneak peek:
