Edition No. 17 of the Gaoler’s Mews Dinner Series to Feature Chef Rob Feenie

The GOODS from L’Abattoir

Vancouver, BC | A third and final instalment of the 2019 No. 1 Gaoler’s Mews dinners is planned for Friday, November 8th and will see Iron Chef Canada’s Rob Feenie of Cactus Club Cafe behind the stove with L’Abattoir’s Chef Lee Cooper in a collaboration not to be missed. The pair will be cooking this intimate 8-seat dining affair in support of the BC Hospitality Foundation.

Although the No. 1 Gaoler’s Mews team will be setting the table for Edition No. 17 of the dinner series, this is just the 3rd dinner with all proceeds from ticket sales being donated to the BC Hospitality Foundation. At the start of 2019, Chef Lee Cooper and the team at L’Abattoir shifted their beloved dinner program towards a cause that hits close to home and began raising money for an organization that looks after their own industry.

Chef Lee Cooper couldn’t be more excited to welcome a Canadian culinary legend into his kitchen this November. “Chef Feenie has helped influence the direction of the restaurant industry not only in BC but across the country and it’s not everyday that I get to cook with an Iron Chef!” says Cooper of the upcoming dinner.

The pair will work together to craft a multi-course and beverage-paired menu that diners will be able to watch being prepared across the counter from them. It’s a once in a lifetime culinary experience. “This is going to be a special night, for a special cause. It’s incredible to see people in hospitality come together and use their skills to give back to the industry that raised them” remarks Chef Feenie.

The ticket auction goes live at 9am on Monday September 30th and will close on Saturday October 5th at 6pm and can be accessed through the No. 1 Gaoler’s Mews website with tickets being auctioned off in pairs to the highest bidders. Dana Lee Harris, Executive Director of the BC Hospitality Foundation has attended each of the dinners this year to introduce the organization to the intimate group of diners and says, “The contribution from L’Abattoir’s program has been instrumental in helping us meet our fundraising goals this year and we are looking forward wrapping up the year with a dinner created by these two incredible chefs”.

Interested diners are invited to add their contact information to the list to receive updates on all the future dinners as well as information about when the ticket auctions open.
