THE STORY | Things are sometimes brought full circle. Serendipitously. Dana Ewart of Joy Road Catering and Heidi Noble of JoieFarm Winery attended chef school together in Stratford Ontario in the late 90s. In 2005, Dana and her partner Cameron (co-chef of Joy Road Catering) visited Heidi at her beautiful farm in Naramata where she was VERY BUSY running an orchard, an on-farm cooking school, writing her fabulous cookbook Menus from an Orchard Table, hosting vineyard lunches, and making her first vintage of wine. She said Help! Cam and Dana!
They pulled out their knives and settled in. Then other wineries said “Hey Cam and Dana, I need some canapés!” Then someone else said, “Our farmers’ market needs some delicious baked goods!” And then someone said, “I need my lovely son’s wedding catered!” And then Cam and Dana became VERY BUSY. They scrambled and found their own land (serendipitously on a road called Joy Road). And so they kept on cooking.
Fast-forward 14 years: Team Joie and Team Joy Road combine forces for the first time since 2005. Hooray! They bring you Alfresco Vineyard Lunch on the Lawn: an inspired menu from Joy Road to pair with Joie Farm wines. Full circle. Three days, three seatings per day. We hope to see you there!
