Vancouver, BC | Sai Woo is looking for the right candidate to fill the position of General Manager of Operations. We are on the lookout for a highly energetic and friendly FOH leader with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills who can multi-task and perform calmly in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:

– Take an active leadership role in service and be on the floor during all hours of operation
– Uphold Sai Woo’s commitment to excellent quality in service with ongoing staff training
– Handle guest concerns quickly and professionally.
– Ensure guest satisfaction and employee empowerment
– Cultivate a work environment where staff development & good work are recognized
– Help to maintain a positive relationship between FOH and BOH and communicate transparently and respectfully
– Interview, hire and train new FOH staff
– Take care of scheduling and provide payroll to bookkeeper for each 14 day pay period
– Daily cash reconciliation
– Manage ordering for needed FOH supplies ie: napkins, micros paper, soap, office supplies etc.
– Lead the weekly Management meeting
– Meet once a week with chef to discuss current functions, staffing and concerns
– Work to increase restaurant sales annually
– Increase check average & overall profitability
– Accurately report all costs, meeting or exceeding all budgets
– Maximize your knowledge of OpenTable and train new hires how to use it as well as monitor OpenTable promotions
– Keep costs in line by applying your knowledge of COG and labour management
– Be in charge of weekly inventory

Qualifications

– minimum 2 years experience in FOH Management
– Foodsafe Level 2 and Serving it Right
– Fluent English, Cantonese an asset
– solid administrative skills with knowledge of excel, word and micros
– willing to work flexible hours
