Two Rivers Springs Into Season With Cinco de Mayo and Mother’s Day Specials

North Vancouver, BC | Two Rivers Specialty Meats will welcome springtime at its North Vancouver butcher shop and eatery by offering limited-edition feature items for Cinco de Mayo on Sunday, May 5 and a special three-course brunch menu for Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 12.

Two Rivers will be turning up the heat and throwing a daytime fiesta showcasing Mexican-inspired feature dishes in honour of Cinco de Mayo on Sunday, May 5. The meaty limited-edition menu includes five south-of-the-border specials: Chicharrones (fried pork rinds) served with hot sauce and fresh limes; a Taco Platter of turkey al pastor and pork chili verde tacos accompanied by jicama slaw; a six-ounce Arrachera Steak topped with a spicy adobo seasoning and served alongside grilled scallions and fries; a Sausage Platter featuring chorizo verde, lamb barbacoa and chipotle chicken sausages all freshly ground on site; and a Chicken Torta Sandwich stacked with beans, fresh avocado, pickled onions, cilantro, jalapeños and lime crema. To drink, guests can get in the Cinco spirit and say ‘Buenos Dias’ with a Michelada cocktail that mixes Clamato juice, lager and Mexican spices served in a salt-rimmed glass.

Mother’s Day

On Mother’s Day, the Two Rivers team will celebrate Mom and her brood by opening an hour early to host a one-day-only prix-fixe brunch menu. Offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, the three-course menu includes house-made scones with local preserves to start followed by a choice of appetizer and main. For those with a lighter appetite, all three entrée options will be available on an à-la-carte basis for the entire day from 10 a.m. to 7p.m. Guests are also invited to raise a toast to Mom with a selection of boozy brunch cocktails – including Mimosas and Baileys Coffee – available exclusively on Mother’s Day.

Individual quiche featuring Fraser Valley ham, caramelized baby leeks, flamed gruyère

In keeping with Two Rivers’ commitment to serving ethical and sustainably raised meat products, dishes on the Cinco de Mayo feature sheet and Mother’s Day brunch menu will showcase natural meat products sourced from partner farmers and local suppliers.

Two Rivers Specialty Meats is a family friendly counter-service eatery offering communal-style indoor tables and an 18-seat covered and heated patio. As reservations are not available at Two Rivers, seating for both Cinco de Mayo and Mother’s Day will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Located at 180 Donaghy Avenue in North Vancouver, Two Rivers Specialty Meats opens daily at 10 a.m. Starting on May 12, the butcher shop and eatery will be extending its hours of operation and remain open until 7 p.m. on Sundayevenings throughout the spring/summer season.
