Vancouver, BC | Guests can shower mom with the attention she deserves this year and treat her to a memorable Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea on Sunday, May 12, at Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver. Exclusive to this year’s Mother’s Day celebrations, afternoon tea will be served in the hotel’s lobby, a tranquil urban oasis amongst the hustle and bustle of the luxury retail shops along Alberni Street. During Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea, guests will enjoy live music courtesy of well-known Vancouver-based pianist, Perry Dickison.

Executive Chef Ken Nakano and his team of expert pastry chefs have created a lavish Afternoon Tea tower, featuring both savory and sweet bites. Tea sandwiches will include Sockeye Salmon Lox with Cream Cheese and Watercress; Smoked Duck Breast with Pickled Cherries; Truffled Mushroom Craquelin and Aged Balsamic. Sweet will include Strawberry Opera Cake with Valrhona Chocolate; Oolong Tea Golden Truffle, and classic French Macarons. Each tea tower also comes with lemon and matcha tea scones – an afternoon tea staple – served with house made clotted cream and a selection of freshly prepared preserves.

Mother’s Day Brunch at Market by Jean-Georges

Market by Jean-Georges will be offering a three-course brunch menu on Sunday May 12. Guests will have a selection to choose from in each course, which may be tough with dishes such as Roasted Vegetable & Truffle Boulangère; Dungeness Crab & Avocado Brioche; BC Morel Mushroom & Kale Quiche; and Brioche French Toast.
