The GOODS from Whiskey Six BBQ
Vancouver, BC | Four years after establishing a new category, branded “West Coast BBQ”, traditional barbecue without compromise, with equal emphasis on the source and flavour of ingredients, Whiskey Six BBQ is thriving. At its core, the menu is built on organic, sustainable, ethical, and locally sourced elements. Starting as a caterer and now two years into his East Van location, owner Marc Wicks – at the helm of the smokers since day one – is ready to hand over the reins.
The future is thick: second and third locations are in the works but first…the hunt is on for an Executive Chef, who will play a leading role in the expansion.
The Executive Chef will balance a humming catering kitchen and a restaurant with a variable tide. The successful candidate will have equal parts kitchen intelligence and team management skills, plus ambition and excitement. BBQ and smoking experience is not required but it is an asset. On the job training in the art of West Coast BBQ is includedy. As Chef, you will lead the back of house and manage costs.
You will also raise the Whiskey Six BBQ profile by pursuing publicity through competitions, media spotlights, and flexing a badass social media game. Applicant should have at least 4 years kitchen leadership experience. A minimum 1 year in both catering and restaurant is necessary.
The role is part of the two-piece management band — the culinary complement to the entrepreneur. Best suited for a Chef aspiring for a business partnership, someone perceptive of the foundation built yet encouraged by the untapped potential. This role is a full-time commitment, so you should expect your face to become part of the brand.
