There’s a new, all-vegetarian market coming soon to North Vancouver’s burgeoning shipyards. Located at #140-125 Victory Ship Way, the 2,500 sqft project’s stated mission will be to provide “Healthy Food Conveniently”.
The new project is coming to us from Ryan Dennis, a local vegetarian who worked at a large Canadian grocery chain for 25 years before striking out on his own. His goal is to provide a larger scale, convenient grocery that promotes healthy eating. Dennis’ connection to the shipyards goes back to when his grandparents met there during the Second World War.
Larry’s Market (Dennis’ middle name is Larry) will feature fresh produce from company’s like Pemberton’s Blue House Organics alongside dry goods and a full cafe menu developed by former Acorn co-owner/chef Brian Skinner. There will be a pizza oven, a matcha tea bar, an espresso counter serving Moja Coffee (roasted nearby), smoothies and fresh juices. Shoppers will have the option of grab-n-go take-out or sitting at a communal table, at the espresso bar, or outside on a small patio.
It sounds like it will be a great addition to the Lower Lonsdale area, especially for vegetarians and veggie-fans in general. Behind the new build is architect Michel Laflamme. The branding identity is by Glasfurd & Walker.
Opening day should fall around the beginning of June, but for an advance taste Larry’s is launching a healthy eating vending machine at Lonsdale Quay in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for that!
Can’t wait
Can’t wait to check it out.
Very exciting. The North Shore definitely needs this!
Looking forward to a local family business. Great addition to the shore.
I’ve always wondered what happened to Brian Skinner. Brilliant chef.
Yay! Open one on the South side next please!
So looking forward to Larry’s market ! I for one need to eat healthier food!?
This is a great place to find what you need, and they go out of their way to help you. LARRY’S has only been open for two days, but will certainly be my go to. I can’t wait to share with my friends.
