The Goods from Crowbar
Vancouver, BC | Fraserhood’s beloved Crowbar is celebrating autumn’s arrival with fresh fall fare and seasonal feature cocktails. Complete with an updated happy hour and expertly curated local craft cider program, the cozy neighbourhood restaurant is the perfect haven for guests to warm up with a tipple in hand and clink glasses over good friends and share plates.
Crowbar’s spirited selection of West Coast inspired contemporary cuisine focuses on heartier dishes for the cooler months that are sure to please patrons’ palates. Crafted by Chef Justin Ell, the evolving menu highlights comforting veggie dishes that use in-season produce along with plates that incorporate off-cut meats for true nose-to-tail dining, reflecting the restaurant’s zero-waste philosophy. Ingredients are delivered straight from local and organic farmers, fishers and growers, with the majority of this fall’s harvest sourced from Zaklan Heritage Farm, an ecological ranch located in the heart of Surrey, BC.
The Crowbar team has also been hard at work behind the bar, concocting an array of innovative cocktails that whimsically echo the change in weather. Diners will delight in the fall-forward Rainier Cherry-Infused Barrel Aged Old Fashioned ($18), made with premium bourbon and local cherries; while the Negroni Cider Sbagliato ($8), a bold spin on an Italian classic that playfully replaces prosecco with cider, showcases Crowbar’s local craft cider program. Spearheaded by William Johnson – proprietor, sommelier and certified cider expert – the industry-leading program continues to gain popularity in Vancouver with a constantly evolving list that now features 20 ciders, including Left Field Co.’s Little Dry, Salt Spring’s Wild Special Blend Plum and more.
“We are super excited to welcome autumn with fun new flavours and drink features,” says Johnson. “I’m very proud of our specialized selection of ciders, and to see our offerings expand so quickly due to the incredibly positive feedback we’ve received from guests is truly rewarding.”
After-work and evening crowds may take advantage of Crowbar’s refreshed happy hour, offering 50% off select menu items, $8 Negronis and glasses of wine, $4 beers and more. Happy hour runs Monday to Saturday from 5:00pm to 6:30pm and 10:30pm to 12:00am, while guests can also experience the new seasonal menus during regular hours from 5:00pm until late. About Crowbar | Situated in the restaurant “golden triangle” of Vancouver’s edgy Fraserhood district, Crowbar is a casual, intimate neighbourhood restaurant designed to bring people together with flavorful share plates, an inventive cocktail program and a healthy dose of good humour. The restaurant’s name is a cheeky nod to the Fraserhood’s historically colourful nature, as well as a subtle homage to a Will Bullas painting depicting surprisingly amiable crows drinking at a bar.
