YVR Prep Readies for Oktoberfest Festivities at Rail District Community Market

The GOODS from YVR Prep

Burnaby, BC | 208 years ago, the marriage between the Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen marked the very first Oktoberfest in Germany. Fast forward a few centuries, and the auspicious occasion has given people the world over a perfect excuse to drink and feast all day (responsibly, of course) in their lederhosens and drindls. Oompah!

YVR Prep is honouring the Bavarian tradition by partnering with the Valley Food + Farm Collective to celebrate Oktoberfest on Saturday October 6th at the Rail District Community Market in Abbotsford.

From 1:00pm to 5:00pm, families are invited to come down and enjoy local Oktoberfest-inspired food while shopping the best that the Valley has to offer! From fresh local produce to German food trucks, the inaugural event will be sure to fill your fridge and belly with local goodness. The market will also feature: live local music, seasonal craft beer, and a kid’s activities area.

From 5:00pm to 10:00pm the Market continues, transforming into a festive Munich Beer Hall where patrons 19+ can eat, drink, and dance the night away!

YVR Prep and fellow Prep members Royal City Donuts and Fat Duck Food Truck will be on hand throughout the entire day, serving up some delicious bites.

Limited number of entry tickets for the Beer Hall is available here: https://www.picatic.com/OktoberfestMarket.

The Rail District Community Market is located at: 2518 West Railway Street, Abbotsford BC.
