Origo Club to Add Afternoon Tea Service to Menu Starting August 31

The GOODS from Origo Club

Richmond, BC | After its successful launch this June, Richmond restaurant, café and art gallery concept Origo Club will expand its offerings by adding Afternoon Tea service beginning Friday, August 31.

Available Fridays and Saturdays from 1:30 to 4 p.m., the small bites, sandwiches and pastries will be served in Origo’s relaxed-yet-refined dining room and paired with a choice of tea or coffee for $45 per guest. The service can also be supplemented with a glass of Barons de Rothschild Champagne for an additional $35 per person.

In addition to house-made scones with cream and jam, Origo’s Afternoon Tea menu includes sweet selections like tartelette au citron (lemon tart), gateau roulé (vanilla and rum Chantilly with fresh fruit), macarons and financiers, as well as savoury delicacies such as choux aux champignons (mushroom choux buns) and quiche Lorraine (egg and bacon tart).

Overseeing Origo’s Afternoon Tea service is Café Manager and Pastry Chef Remi Ho, who honed his skills under such acclaimed local chefs as Pino Posteraro (Cioppino’s Mediterranean Grill & Enoteca), Kira Desmond (Secret Location) and Christophe Bonzon (Chez Christophe) before joining the team at Origo Club earlier this year.

Afternoon Tea is the latest addition to the café at Origo Club, which offers fans of the laidback bistro lifestyle fresh-baked viennoiseries and lighter lunch fare as well as coffee sourced from local roasters, espresso-based beverages courtesy of a state-of-the-art Modbar brewing system and a selection of aromatic green, black and herbal teas.

“We’ve had such an incredible reception since we opened our doors, and we’re excited to add a new component to the Origo Club experience,” said Managing Partner Woody Wu. “Remi has done an incredible job overseeing this new menu and we can’t wait to showcase his talent and passion.”

RESERVATIONS | As there are a limited number of spots available for Origo Club’s Afternoon Tea on Fridays and Saturdays, reservations are highly recommended and may be made by calling the restaurant at 604-285-8889 or booking online via OpenTable.
