Chez Christophe Bringing Blueberries & Coffee to Burnaby’s Annual ‘Crave the Heights’

The GOODS from Chez Christophe

Burnaby, BC | Chez Christophe Chocolaterie Patisserie (4717 Hastings Street) is celebrating the culinary community of Burnaby Heights with a special menu for Crave the Heights this year. From August 17 to August 26, 2018, customers are invited to visit and enjoy two blueberry and coffee creations – an Iced Brew-berry Coffee paired with a Blueberry Coffee Choux pastry.

“We have been participating in Crave ever since we opened five years ago,” says Christophe Bonzon, owner and pastry chef of Chez Christophe Chocolaterie Patisserie. “It is a great showcase of what Burnaby Heights has to offer with special menus from restaurants, bakeries, and dessert places. We have such a vibrant and diverse community here – that is why we love being in the Heights. There is definitely something for everyone.”

Chez Christophe is highlighting the flavour combination of blueberries with coffee. The Iced Brew-berry Coffee ($5.95), crafted by head barista Lailla Ahmed, features custom cold brew coffee muddled with housemade blueberry syrup, and topped with a fresh B.C. blueberry whipped cream and drizzle. The limited edition Blueberry Coffee Choux is made with a B.C. blueberry confit, coffee monte, and caramelized cocoa nibs in choux pastry. Customers have a choice to try both for $9.95. Chez Christophe uses Pallet Coffee Roasters coffee.

“We love B.C. blueberry season and thought it would be unique to put it with coffee,” adds Bonzon. “I think it’s a great blending of flavours and can’t wait for people to start trying them both.”

The annual Crave the Heights is put on by The Heights Merchants Association.

Currently, 10 restaurants are participating in the area. For a complete list, please visit

About Chez Christophe | In 2013, award-winning pastry chef, chocolatier, and Cacao Barry Ambassador Christophe Bonzon opened Chez Christophe Chocolaterie and Patisserie with his wife Jess Bonzon in the bustling Burnaby Heights neighbourhood. Bringing a bit of Swiss flair to Canada, their collection of fine handmade chocolates ranges from artistic chocolate sculptures, creative truffle flavours to signature chocolate bars, and seasonal favourites. Customers can also find an array of macarons, viennoiserie, desserts, and cakes at Chez Christophe. Due to overwhelming support, the pair moved to a larger location in 2016 with more seating, an outdoor patio, and an expanded menu with sandwiches.
