Gastown’s L’Abattoir Seeks to Grow Management Team

Vancouver, BC | L’Abattoir Restaurant is looking for a new member of its front of house management team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

– Being a leader amongst staff members

– Helping to develop, maintain and grow the wine program

– Participating and assisting with staff training of all new and current menu items (food, wine, bar)

– Being a key holder – responsible for locking the restaurant 1-2 nights a week

– Mentorship of new and existing team members

– Constantly encouraging your team in terms of development

– Ongoing training + development of entire service team

– Strong sense of COGS

– Ability to use our POS and Microsoft

– Coordination of the schedule

– Building relationships with old and new customers

– Providing genuine hospitality to each and every guest (making them feel special)

– Leading by example with a positive attitude and genuine care for all of our guests and team members

Job Expectations:

– 40 – 50 hours per week

– Standard reply of emails and text messages within a ( 1 day max )

– Coordination with event coordinator managing and planning PDR events – assisting in execution

– Ability to speak to wines and having the confidence to sell it

– Assist with inventory management – ordering, receiving, rotation of stock, maintenance of par levels, inventory counts and reporting

– Assist with wine education program for staff – organization, planning, and execution

– Increase the public profile of L’Abattoir’s wine program – i.e. contribute to social media campaigns, act as an ambassador of the restaurant at all times

– Managing cleanliness and up keep of the restaurant + PDR with respective management

– 1 on 1 development with all staff members on a quarterly basis

– Report to General Manager and Wine Director on a weekly basis – COGS, environment, human resources, infractions etc.
