JoieFarm Welcomes Chef Brian Skinner to the Le Comptoir and Joie Picnique Team

The GOODS from JoieFarm

Naramata, BC | Please join us in giving a warm Joie welcome to the newest addition to our Le Comptoir at Joie Picnique team!

Born and raised on the West Coast of BC, Chef Brian received his Red Seal Certification apprenticing at award-winning Bin 941 in 2005 after working his way to Sous Chef.

Aspiring for a more humbling cooking experience, Brian headed to Europe to gain Michelin Star experience at world-renowned restaurants such as Viajante and Sketch in London England, as well as Noma in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Once back home in Vancouver, Chef Brian taught at Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts before opening his first award-winning restaurant, The Acorn.

Chef Brian sold The Acorn in October 2014. He continues to make vegetable-based cuisine accessible and inspiring for carnivores and vegetarians alike. He now lives with his family in Kelowna, BC, where he and his wife are setting up a new restaurant opening in 2018.

Chef Brian will be sharing his talents at Le Comptoir at Joie Picnique on Thursdays and Fridays this summer. We look forward to seeing you here on the lawn!

  1. For the record, Chef Skinner didn’t sell
The Acorn but did sell his shares. The current owner is also the founder.
