Meanwhile, from 1-4pm Chinatown will be bustling with cultural activities including dancing, crafts, food tastings, music and ceremonies. This means that you can enjoy your Chop Suey lunch to-go amid the festivities, or plan a meal pit-stop and/or a drink or snack break at the restaurant, which is located in the heart of Chinatown at the historic storefront of the original 1925 Sai Woo Chop Suey establishment.

Also nearby at the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Vancouver, Mayor Gregor Robertson and Vancouver City Councillors will be holding a special City Council Meeting to give their official apology to the Chinese Community in recognition of the city’s history of discrimination against Chinese people, from 2-3:30pm. Seating for the meeting is first come, first served so it’s recommended to arrive 15 minutes before it commences. We’ll see you there!
