The GOODS from Tofino Resort + Marina

Tofino, BC | 1909 Kitchen at the new Tofino Resort + Marina announces an impressive roster of guest chef collaborations, taking place throughout the spring. The Guest Chef Series will feature: Brad Holmes and Chef Carmen Ingham from OLO Restaurant, Victoria on March 10; followed by Chef Felix Zhou from Heritage Asian Eatery, Vancouver on April 28; and Chef David Hawksworth of Hawksworth Restaurant, Vancouver on May 19.

The newest addition to Tofino’s flourishing culinary scene, 1909 Kitchen offers locally sourced, ingredient-driven cuisine, with renowned Executive Chef Paul Moran at the helm. Situated against a breathtaking West Coast backdrop, 1909 Kitchen boasts a diverse menu designed to spotlight an abundance of fresh and foraged ingredients, derived from Tofino’s very own forests, shoreline and ocean.

“I’m very excited to give our three upcoming guest chefs a very warm Tofino welcome,” says Chef Moran. “It is an honour to host such talent in our kitchen, to share ideas and inspiration, and create a truly memorable culinary experience for our guests. It will be exciting to see each of our custom menus unfold, putting a new and unique spin on all the wonderful ingredients we have at our fingertips here in Tofino.”

Next up on April 28, Felix Zhou, Head Chef at Heritage Asian Eatery in Vancouver will join forces with Moran at 1909 Kitchen to curate an innovative menu inspired by Far-East flavours. Nestled in the heart of Vancouver’s financial district, Heritage Asian Eatery boasts a casual but energetic atmosphere, reflective of its modern and playful menu. The collaboration dinner will take place after the annual FEAST Festival’s Dock Fest, held in Tofino Resort + Marina’s very own waterfront courtyard.

  1. This is very inspiring news for the restaurant community in Vancouver and the Islands. It’s so important to keep us all inspired and working together to be supporting aqua culture and agriculture. In a very competitive Industry we can renew our commitment to support our chefs who are working so hard and continue to manifest their visions.
