Vancouver, BC | Residing within the corporate accounting division of Toptable Group, this position reports to the Controller and is responsible for assisting the department to complete their monthly, quarterly and annual objectives with a growing brand.

Position: Intermediate Accountant
Reports to: Controller

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(other duties may be assigned as required)

– Bookkeeping for multiple venues
– Performing reconciliation of bank, and GL accounts including prepaid, accruals and intercompany transactions on a monthly basis
– Preparing and entering journal entries
– GST/HST/PST return filings
– Support month-end and year-end closing process
– Assist in preparing year-end working papers for external auditors
– Liaise with operations management and any involved parties to provide timely, accurate financial results and analysis
– Support the Controller developing and documenting business processes, accounting policies, and efficiency to maintain and strengthen accounting system and internal control
– Various ad hoc and special projects

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

– Bachelor’s Degree and in possession or pursuit of an accounting designation
– Minimum 2 years of full-cycle accounting experience
– Working knowledge of Word and Excel
– Experience with Sage 300 is a benefit
– Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal)
– Professional presentation and demeanor

– A solid work ethic with ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work under pressure
