‘We Will Be Alright’ Show to Kick Off Cartems’ New Art Exhibition Series on January 20th

Staying true to their motto of “smiles.conversations.donuts”, Cartems Donuterie is keeping the discussion going at their original Pender Street location with a new calendar of art exhibitions. Every two months they’ll be featuring a different local artist, displaying works not conventionally shown in the cafe environment. The program begins with Janet Wang, whose series “we will be alright” goes up on January 20th. After that will be a sculptural installation by Patrick O’Neill, scheduled for April.

Before you go out (or settle in) for the night on Saturday, head downtown for the evening opening reception where you can meet Wang in person while perking up with a complimentary drink and donut. The show is up until February 17th, so even if you can’t make it out to the event you still have plenty of time to enjoy the art over a coffee and pastry. Cartems will announcing their next call for submissions via their website and Facebook page at the end of January.
