Burdock & Co. Primed for Holiday Season, Announces NYE Feast

The GOODS from Burdock & Co.

Vancouver, BC | Holiday season is just around the corner, and calendars are filling up with festive celebrations. Aside from time spent with friends, family and coworkers, memorable food plays a key role in ensuring guests remain happily ensconced in that cozy vibe so special to the holidays. Burdock & Co is the natural choice, delivering everything one could possibly desire for a holiday gathering in one elegant space. Featuring locally and responsibly sourced dishes served family-style, the restaurant offers an intimate setting perfectly designed for casual get-togethers, private buyouts and elegant New Year’s Eve dining alike.

Burdock & Co’s loyalty to organic and sustainable ingredients is supplemented by a mandate of sharing the joys of farm-to-table cooking with the wider community. The holidays are a wonderful time to sample the wares of nearby farmers and growers, and diners can rest assured their meal is just as nourishing and wholesome as it is delicious. Since Burdock & Co is featuring its regular menu throughout the season, visitors will have the opportunity to taste seasonally influenced dishes that reflect Chef / Owner Andrea Carlson’s philosophy of honest, approachable cooking.

Menus bring the focus back to raw ingredients, playing with textures, spices and refined techniques that highlight the natural flavours of B.C.’s coastal seafood, organic vegetables and ethically raised meats. The carefully curated wine program – which received the Platinum Award for Wine Program Excellence at the 2017 Vancouver International Wine Festival – consists entirely of naturalist wines that contain no additives, are sustainably farmed, and crafted with minimal intervention to preserve the authenticity of the soil and grapes. The menu also features original and classic cocktails, as well as local craft beers.

Holiday parties and buyouts won’t find a better venue than Burdock & Co’s compact space, designed to elicit conversation and dining exploration with a central communal table that brings diners together around arrays of delectable share plates. The entire restaurant can comfortably accommodate up to 34 guests for seated dinners or cocktail receptions. Parties with full buyouts enjoy a multicourse family-style dining experience while smaller parties can book the same experience as a half-buyout beginning at 8:30pm. The Burdock & Co team are well aware that little touches make a big impact, which is why private parties have the option of selecting thoughtful add-ons like pre-dinner sparkling wine and canapé service, edible gift bags or a raw oyster bar. To add an interactive and educational component to the evening, Burdock & Co’s Sommelier Service program brings talented Sommelier Jesse Walters into the action to lead guests through a tasting journey of selected wines ($300 additional charge). For private dining availability, pricing structures and additional information, contact Julie Sopuck at [email protected].

The party continues on New Year’s Eve when Burdock & Co will host two dinner seatings, each catering to distinct preferences for revelry. Partyers who have big plans for midnight can opt for New Year’s Lite, which takes place early in the evening and offers a low price point with fewer courses and a smaller menu. The seating begins at 6:00pm on December 31, and tickets cost $69 per person (plus tax and gratuity). Guests who want to make a night of their dining experience can join the second seating at 8:30pm, which features a bigger menu and a wider selection of dishes. Tickets cost $99 per person (plus tax and gratuity). Tickets include dinner only – wine pairings are available at an additional cost. Tickets will be available online on Eventbrite or by calling 604.879.0077. Advance reservations are highly recommended as seating is limited.

During the holiday season, Burdock & Co will be closed on December 25, 26 and 27. On January 1, the restaurant will be open for brunch only. Regular operating hours are seven days a week from 5:00pm to 9:30pm, and Saturday and Sunday brunch from 10:30am to 1:45pm.
