Pidgin to Host One-Night Only Pop-Up Sake Bar on Monday, Nov. 20

On Monday, November 20th, Pidgin is bringing cutting edge sake to Gastown for a one-night only pop up sake bar. The event features two special flights of Mitobe Brewery’s Junmai sake, direct from the Yamagata prefecture and available by the glass to be enjoyed with Chef Wes’ Otsumami (“snack”) menu of Japanese faves, like yakitori, tempura and okonomiyaki.

The night is the perfect introduction to Japan’s new generation of sakes, named after the country’s greatest swordsmith, Masamune, because of their crisp flavour that cuts like a sword. Along with Pidgin’s in-house somms, sommelier and WSET Sake Instructor Mariko Tajiri and Mitobe Brewery’s own Tomonobu Mitobe will be on hand to share their knowledge with those in attendance.

This is a first-come, first-served event and a rare opportunity (not to mention, a perfect cure to a case of the Monday drearies), so mark your calendars!

Mon, Nov. 20 | 5-10pm | Pidgin (350 Carrall St.) | $25
