The Parkside Wins Fresh Accolades for its Craft Beer and Street Appeal

The GOODS from The Parkside Brewery

Port Moody, BC | Since opening its doors in June of 2016, The Parkside Brewery has secured its spot as a major destination on both Port Moody’s Brewers’ Row and the larger BC craft beer landscape. With a full range of beers on tap – from German-style Pilsners and SMaSH IPA’s to West Coast Pale Ales and Imperial Stouts – the spacious tasting room and grass-lined patio have been a hotbed of activity since day one. And it’s really no wonder with Brewmaster and Co-Owner Vern Lambourne delivering a lineup of beers that showcase his signature mix of creativity and approachability honed over twenty-two years in the craft beer industry.

Over the past couple of weeks, the brewery has been recognized for its commitment to quality at two separate events. First, they took home honours in two top categories at the BC Beer Awards – the craft beer industry’s flagship event – where an expert panel of judges sampled beers from over 100 local breweries. In the Belgian Ale category, Parkside was awarded 2nd place for its DimWit Belgian Witbier, an easy-drinking fan favourite with distinct notes of citrus and coriander. Following that, they took home a coveted top-3 finish (bronze) in the North American IPA category for Motel 5-Hop Pale Ale, a hop-forward hazy beer with heaps of tropical & berry flavours and a clean, balanced finish. With a total of 82 entries, the IPA category was by far the most heavily contested on the night.

Next up, at the City of Port Moody’s annual Spike Awards, a night that recognizes the best in local business as nominated by the public, Parkside was awarded Best Street Appeal for a second consecutive year on the strength of their spacious 100-seat patio, dog-friendly atmosphere and iconic neon sign. Just another in a long line of reasons to hop on the Evergreen line and check out all Port Moody and Brewers’ Row have to offer.

ABOUT PARKSIDE BREWERY

Parkside website -0722

The Parkside Brewery celebrates the social aspects of life and connecting with others and your community. Whether it be gathering with loved ones for a BBQ, playing that pickup game with friends, a game of shuffleboard in the basement or relaxing on a warm summer evening on a park bench or lawn chair.

At Parkside, It all starts with the beer we brew. We believe in making craft beers of all styles- from approachable to specialty- while only using the best ingredients. Our beers are a celebration of where we live- The Pacific Northwest.

The Parkside Brewery’s name is very literal. We are, in fact, located right beside a park. This gives the brewery an incredible sense of place, and a specific place at that. We are proud to be located in Port Moody across from Rocky Point park where we have deep roots. Our connection to this location and the community around it is so important to our identity. We also believe that Parkside represents the connection that our customers’s have to their communities as well- it could be any park, in any place, to anyone. The reason for that is the emotional connection that speaks to not only “our specific place”, but also to any park and gathering place, and all that is connected to that.
