July 27th Party To Celebrate Arrival Of Kris Barnholden As Chef At Bows X Arrows

Vancouver, BC | On July 27th, Fraser/Mountain View’s Bows X Arrows will host a party with some of Vancouver’s most exciting food and beverage talents to mark the launch of their new summer menus.

Bows & Arrows is humbled to be working with Juno Kim (Juno Kim Catering), Doug Stephen (Merchants Workshop) and Twin Sails Brewing to celebrate the new summer menus created by Kris Barnholden and the Bows & Arrows team. Bows & Arrows finds inspiration in the beautiful ingredients and beverages we have access to, from farm fresh vegetables and fruits to fish from sustainable fisheries. We will offer menu items created collaboratively by Kris, Juno and Doug, showcasing the excellent produce of the season and the unique vision of all three chefs. For the following month, Bows & Arrows will feature dishes from this collaboration. Twin Sails Brewing will be commandeering all six of the Bows & Arrows taps bringing their always innovative and exciting take on contemporary craft beer. The Dinner will be a la carte.

Juno Kim focuses his time on creating memorable dining experiences while utilizing local, seasonal ingredients. Juno’s strengths lie in pulling from his past life experiences in fashion, economics and psychology to create unique plates. Through his catering business he provides thoughtful food for some of the top tech companies, boutiques and tastemakers in the city.

Doug Stephen is the mastermind behind Merchants Workshop on Commercial Drive. Merchants has quickly become a East Van favourite in a city full of great restaurants. Doug is known for combining bold flavours with superior technique, always yielding thoughtful and engaging cuisine. Merchants is often described as the home of Vancouver’s best burger.

Twin Sails joined Port Moody’s Brewers Row late in 2015. The name of the Brewery refers to its founders, who are twin brothers, as well as the common sight of sailboats on the waters of the Burrard Inlet out front of the brewery. Twin Sails is seen as one of the province’s leading producers of innovative, cutting edge North American IPAs, Pale Ales and Stouts.

Kris Barnholden lends his creative vision and talents to any project he is involved in and is excited to be involved in the unique project for Bows & Arrows restaurant. He has cooked at restaurants all over Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and London. Kris is known for pushing the envelope with flavour combinations and compositions, as well as owning and operating award winning restaurants Latab and Mis Trucos.

ABOUT BOWS X ARROWS | Bows & Arrows Restaurant in the Fraser/Mountain View neighbourhood of East Vancouver has a simple philosophy: make very good things with excellent ingredients from great producers, in a beautiful room with good music.

Designed by Toronto’s MSDS Studio, the restaurant is open and bright, filled with green plants and light wood furniture, including a custom 26-foot long solid fir communal table and light fixtures. The oak floors, simple shelving, clean lines and unadorned white walls
