Scratch That Itch At Casey Wei’s Chinatown ‘Karaoke Video Maker Free Store’

by Ken Tsui | For anyone who looking to take “they’re playing my jam!” to the next level, Vancouver artist Casey Wei is at your service. Best known for making headlines for her community artwork, the ‘Kingsgate Mall Happenings’ in 2014, she has a new residency in Chinatown’s UNIT/PITT called Karaoke Video Maker Free Store. From noon to 6pm every Friday and Saturday until May 6th, you still have the opportunity to redefine the tired karaoke video cliches of tulip fields, Dutch windmills and ladies traipsing along tropical beaches in flowing white dresses by making your very own music video for just about any karaoke song. With a green screen at your artistic disposal, the possibilities are endless. Note that video making sessions are by appointment only so contact Casey at freekaraokemusicvideo [at] gmail.com (but only if you’re really looking to scratch your rockstar itch!).
