We are looking for driven, reliable team players for Sous Chef and Line Cook positions at our restaurant & patio in English Bay. Candidates should have a strong work ethic, experience in a “from scratch” kitchen and be passionate about the food they create and present. We have full-time and part-time opportunities available. Situated on Denman Street, just steps from the ocean at English Bay, Beach Bay Café & Patio offers fresh West Coast cuisine in its natural habitat. Proudly partnering with the Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise program, the team is pleased to use sustainably sourced ocean-friendly seafood to create simple and delicious dishes that can be enjoyed al fresco on the patio or inside the warm and welcoming restaurant.

Showcasing the freshest local ingredients of each season, Beach Bay’s West Coast inspired menu combines intricate flavour combinations with casual and comforting Canadian staples. Behind the bar, award-winning mixologist Adrian Lindner is placing the West End on the map as a destination for creative cocktails. His artfully crafted drinks menu offers a range of accessible and delicious cocktails that provide a multi-sensory experience, with bold ingredients such as pepper (in the Sunburnt Ginger) providing a unique twist on traditional recipes. The curated wine list includes hidden-gem wineries, unique boutique vineyards, and classic contemporary winemakers, accompanied by plenty of bubbles for celebrations.

Reflecting our pure and simple food philosophy, the newly refreshed interior is bathed in natural light and is softened by pale wood accents throughout. Bringing the outdoors inside, new touches include locally sourced timber and a soft colour palette that works in harmony with the artwork that adorns the walls, such as the large vintage sepia photograph from 1910 that portrays the historic English Bay neighbourhood.

In spring and summer the restaurant spills outside onto the heated patio for guests to soak up the stunning views over sunny lunches, and to enjoy evening cocktails while the sun sets over the bay. Popular with locals as a neighbourhood spot at the bustling cross-roads of Davie and Denman, Beach Bay Café & Patio is also a delight for visitors to discover when exploring English Bay – the fish and chips take-out window being the perfect way to enjoy a beach picnic.
