The GOODS from Freebird Chicken Shack
Vancouver, BC | In early March, Freebird Chicken Shack, the youngest of four eateries from award-winning chef Angus An, will expand and move to a new location at New Westminster’s River Market. Chef Angus has also added to the menu, which in addition to its signature rotisserie chickens, will feature grilled items, a new fried chicken recipe, and a liquor license to be in place by summer.
Taking over the 800-square-foot space previously occupied by Wally’s Burgers at 112 River Market, the new and larger location of Freebird is directly opposite the original. The space will seat 20, with 5 additional stools at the counter.
Known for its Asian-style rotisserie birds, Freebird serves chicken dishes, rice, soups, salads, and curries. The updated menu will grow from featuring organic, free-range roasted chicken to include crispy Fried Chicken in two and three piece orders ($10/$14), and an 8-piece Bucket of Fried Chicken ($25). Grilled Chicken Skewers ($10) will be added to the menu, and Freebird is planning to add liquor to its list, with new drinks offerings in place by the summer.
Freebird Chicken Shack is a sister restaurant to three other restaurants owned by chef Angus An.
