To all our wine-fixated trade readers, it’s worth noting that applications for this year’s BC Hospitality Foundation Sommelier Scholarships have been open for some time now and since there hasn’t been much coverage of their availability it’s possible that all of the four $1000 scholarships are still up for grabs. Applications close January 4th, so best get on this quick!

The 2017 BC Hospitality Foundation Sommelier Scholarships are sponsored by Okanagan Crush Pad and Authentic Wine and Spirits Merchants. These scholarships are a mentorship program designed to further individual study in wine education. Up to four $1,000 scholarships are awarded every year.

Students applying must currently work in the hospitality and/or wine industry and have completed WSET Level 3, ISG Level 2 or the Certified Sommelier Examination via the Court of Master Sommeliers.

Scholarship applications are sent to an industry committee for review. Scholarships are open to anyone working in the hospitality and/or wine industry in British Columbia. Our committee chooses up to four scholarship winners. Winners will be notified in writing, in advance of the presentation. For more information and to apply, click here.
