Vancouver, BC | Raise a glass with Ancora Waterfront Dining and Patio in celebration of its one-year anniversary with a special Champagne menu curated by the restaurant’s acclaimed sommelier team.

Since opening in September 2015, Ancora has received an incredible welcome from visitors and locals alike, having been quickly recognized as one of the top seafood restaurants in the city with a range of awards, including being named among Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants. To commemorate the banner year, Ancora’s team of esteemed sommeliers – including General Manager Andrea Vescovi and Restaurant Manager Kane Morgan – have designed a special anniversary Champagne tasting menu.

The exclusive menu highlights five distinct styles of Champagnes available by-the-glass or bottle, and showcases France’s finest sparkling wines produced by top family growers and prestigious estates. Selected to cover a range of styles from leaner to fuller, guests can also try a flight of three, 3-ounce glasses from the Champagne houses of Thiénot, Moutard and Mandois ($43).

“We are so proud to receive these amazing accolades in our first year and this success is all down to the entire team’s hard work and dedication,” said General Manager Andrea Vescovi. “We wanted to celebrate in style, and a Champagne tasting menu seemed like the perfect way to mark our one-year milestone.”

To complement the Champagne celebrations, Executive Chef Ricardo Valverde has added a new selection of dishes to the menu to reflect the summer season. The Farmer’s Market Salad features an assortment of fresh ingredients that Chef Valverde handpicks twice a week from the market – ranging from pattypan squash to purple cauliflower and smoked chayote – all served with an aji amarillo ponzu dressing, puffed quinoa and shaved radish ($16). Diners can also choose from an expanded selection of causas, including the crispy prawn causa with avocado mousse, kale chips, rocoto-harissa and escabeche sauce ($17); and Peruvian quinoa with beets, English peas, baby carrots, nori tempura and ocopa sauce ($14).
