Grasso, most recently Head Chef of Toronto’s acclaimed The Black Hoof, has also worked at Vancouver favorites Bao Bei and La Quercia. Known as an exceptional chef, Grasso, wholeheartedly embraces and shares Cinara’s philosophy; food should be made with the best product possible, backed by remarkable technique and impeccable execution.

The Concept: Owner/Chef Lucais Syme extends this notable invitation, hands over the keys and entrusts a full Kitchen Take Over at Cinara. For one week only, Grasso will embrace the menu offering with his trademark sincerity. Expect dishes casual enough to enjoy with authentic enthusiasm, while consistently exhibiting his vast knowledge and an all-encompassing love of food.

Cinara is a 40 seat restaurant located on the corner of Homer St. and West Pender in the Victorian Hotel. With a European approach to cuisine, owners Lucais Syme and Gill Book use the best available ingredients to deliver interesting and satisfying dishes to be enjoyed either al la carte or as a tasting menu designed for the table. The wine program ranges from a seasonally changing list of 40 labels to the top wines of the old world which have been collected over the years. Cinara is a comfortable setting with a mix of old world and modern to be enjoyed for a brief stop or a whole evening.
