With our city now so laughably unaffordable, thousands of Vancouverites are stuck imagining wonderful homes instead of living in them. “Spaced” is a record of our minds wandering the world of architecture and design, up and away from the unrewarding realities of shoebox condos, dark basement suites, and sweet fuck all on Craigslist.

(via) Located in the Krokskogen forest outside the Norwegian town of Honefoss, this 2013 cabin by local firm Atelier Oslo is exposed on a slope overlooking the waters of the Steinsfjorden. The flowing, continuously curving, multi-zoned interiors – separated in level by the occasional space-transitioning step or two – are dressed simply in 4mm birch plywood. Dig the fireplace, hexagonal floor inserts, and all that natural light! We’d take ours on a similar slope (lower elevation) on Thetis Island overlooking the ferry route to Chemainus.
