The GOODS from Tacofino
Vancouver, BC | Tacofino will start serving up its signature eclectic, Mexican-inspired cuisine in a new neighbourhood this summer when it opens the doors on a new counter-service restaurant in the heart of Vancouver’s Yaletown district.
Located at 1025 Mainland Street, Tacofino Yaletown will feature a 40-seat dining room and 16-seat patio, a full bar and take-out service similar to its Burrito Bar, which opened at 15 West Cordova Street in Gastown in 2014. Vancouver designer Shiloh Sukkau, who oversaw the décor of Tacofino’s flagship location in Gastown, once again applied her talents to the layout of the new restaurant, which will evoke the same sort of laidback, surf-centric style that inspired Tacofino’s trademark cuisine.
Tacofino Yaletown is the latest addition to an ever-expanding Tacofino brand that began with the original Tacofino Cantina in Tofino, BC and now includes a fleet of food trucks, three brick-and-mortar restaurants in Vancouver and Victoria, a legion of ardent followers and a lineup of products that are Ocean Wise-approved, antibiotic- and hormone-free, raised ethically and made locally.
“We’re excited to bring Tacofino to a new Vancouver neighbourhood,” says Jason Sussman, who cofounded the company with Kaeli Robinsong in 2009. “We appreciate Vancouver’s continued support and can’t wait to open our next location.”
Further details regarding Tacofino’s new restaurant will be revealed in the coming months. About Tacofino
Tacofino was born out of a desire to create a unique dining experience by offering quality, freshness and affordability with an environmental and nutritional conscience. Fast “slow” food is a concept that really appeals to us, so we make everything from scratch and with love, but without the wait. Our menu is inspired by our world travels, taking the Baja-style taco to another level. Our truck has been a phenomenon in Tofino; it is vibrant, bright orange, with local artist Lee Robinsong’s painting of the Virgin de Guadalupe holding a taco. It is an homage to the birthplace of the taco, Mexico and Baja California. We now have trucks in Vancouver and Victoria as well; and most recently, two new restaurants in Vancouver, one on East Hastings and one in Gastown.
I do not agree.
